Kindle Leather Cover (Fits 6" Display, 2nd Generation Kindle)

Metal connectors are not compatible with the plastic casing on the Kindle. I developed two cracks because of this flaw. Amazon replaced the Kindle expediently and without hassle. If you are having problems with customer service, direct them to their supervisors so that they are giving consistent and correct information.
I wish Amazon Canada would have more variety since Amazon.com does not deliver certain items to Canada....hint hint!!!!

I own this cover and have had it since November, and really like it. It I only use the cover when I go to appts, pedicures, etc. Plus, it doesn't get lost in my purse! If you use it full time, I can see where there would be problems.

Maybe people are having problems because they are using it for unintended purposes...

I bought this with my wife's Kindle II as a compromise between protection and expense. I went for the cheaper standard cover. It is great! She loves it, and it protects the Kindle. It keeps the package slim and light and fits the Kindle like it was made for it (It was).

When I first bought this cover for the Kindle, I was very happy with it. It protected the screen, and I liked the way holding the Kindle in its cover felt. I was perfectly happy, until I noticed that the left lower and upper edges of my Kindle were beginning to crack. It took me a little while to figure out that the hooks that connect the cover to the Kindle were making the cracks!

Please do not buy this cover! It will make your Kindle crack. I have experienced some faulty performance from my Kindle, and I'm pretty sure it's because of the cracks caused by the cover. I've also seen in these comments and the forum that there is some kind of lawsuit pending because of the cover's flaws.

This is a fine product in almost all respects. Its one big flaw is that the hooks and back cover combine to create a powerful lever seemingly designed to break the plastic case where the hooks insert.

Suggestion: either hinge the back cover or use a small "dot" of velcro to connect the back of the Kindle to the back flap of the cover.
