Kindle Leather Cover (Fits 6" Display, 2nd Generation Kindle)

I like the cover, it really does protect and adds little weight. I just wish it had a pocket too. It needs some way to hold a notepad or something.

I received my Kindle 2 as a gift. I travel frequently and purchased the Amazon Kindle 2 Leather Cover to protect my device and to allow me to hold it like a "book". My Kindle 2 is a prized possession and I treat it as such. A few weeks ago, I received an emailed notice from Amazon about possible damage that can be caused to the device by the hooks on the cover. I realized the potential problem as soon as my Kindle 2 was installed in its cover and have taken precautions to make sure I do not let the device "flap" away from the back cover. In spite of these precautions, I have found the hook that has the release on it has damaged my Kindle. I have had both my Kindle and cover too long to return it. To prevent further damage, I am no longer using the cover and plan on purchasing one of the leather covers made by Oberon Designs. They seem to offer much more protection than the Amazon Kindle 2 Leather Cover.

I have had this cover for 6 months- about 6 weeks ago my I notice a 1.5 inch crack on the face of my Kindle, where the upper left clip of this cover attaches to the device. I called Amazon and they acknowledged the problem, replaced my Kindle and gave me a refund for the cover.

There is no reason to not get this case instead of the newer $50 case for the kindle2. The only difference that I can see is the little bungee. Who cares about a bungee? I got a case for $15 and it doesn't flop open anyway! Yay for older models!

No frills cover, does what it is supposed to do. It makes the kindle feel more like a book now and keeps the dirt of the screen.
