I've used other stud finders and they didn't work. This worked the first time I tried it. It's about as big as 2 quarters. The leveler isn't very big, but can be used for less accurate projects. It has a loop that you can put a string through to hang it from your belt or desk.

Perfect for every day home DIY jobs like hanging pictures, shelves etc. Works like a charm and you don't have to worry about batteries running out. Very happy and satisfied. Money well spent.

As a carpenter I have always been annoyed with finding studs and electronic stud finders that never work. I just got mine in the mail and its a very neat little toy. The magnets (I believe there is two inside there) are very strong. I rarely rate the items I buy on here but I felt the need to come on and rave about my new gizmo.

I have my share of electronic stud finders (ie Zircon). They get the job done for the most part. But occasionally the electronic types have certain disadvantages. The biggest one for me is having to scan several passes to make sure i can locate the the center and edges of the stud. And as you may guess the readings are not always the same. Well, this is never a problem for this magnetic stud finder!! It always hones in on the nail (given that the nail at hand is centered on the stud which you have to assume it is). I give this product an A+ because it does exactly what it claims. For regular usage I would recommend using the magnetic finder first then confirm with an electronic one if necessary. Overall, a very satisfied customer :-)

First off I want to say that the photos make this tool look huge. It's tiny and it works perfect. No more lining my walls with nail holes when trying hang a heavy item like a TV on the wall. I have aluminum studs so its not as easy to do the hollow hammer tap on the sheet-rock to see where the stud is. It all sounds the same because the aluminum studs are hollow but since I have this stud finder now its no problem.

I recommend this stud finder to anyone and for the price you really can't beat it. Great tool!!!!
