Kindle Leather Cover (Fits 6" Display, 2nd Generation Kindle)

Ok my review is short only because I am not the owner of the product it was a gift and here is what I have heard from the owner. My mom says she takes this everywhere she goes, to work, to the gym (I was surprised about that, must be small enough), get her hair cut, and even on walks around the neighborhood. The cover just protects it so great she says from all those daily uses. She has told me it feels great and light and really saves the device from stuff. The quality is superb she said and that it is worth it to protect what she loves. I am just glad she likes it and must say it is a great buy to protect your kindle.

I have been pleased with this leather cover; simple and clean with a civilized elegance. I have had my Kindle 2 in it since first received eight months ago, have used it on a daily basis, and it still looks good; virtually new. While I am careful with my Kindle, it does go almost everywhere with me; daily in my brief case to work, every evening at my bedside, in the door pocket of my truck on my traveling adventures. I've sat in the sun in the backyard, creek side in the mountain, in the shade of a desert boulder, all with the Kindle neatly cased in this cover. It's been speckled with morning mist and afternoon thunder showers as I run for cover. It still looks great and continues to protect the reader. The front easily folds completely backward to allow the Kindle to remain grasped one handed. The inside is nicely felted to protect the device and yet effortlessly brushes clean of outdoor debris.

The method of attachment is at the left side or spine, as like a regular book. I have read that some owners have had the Kindle's case crack at this attachment due to unintentional pivoting between the back cover and the reader. The only improvement I would suggest is that some method of securing the right side of the device to the back cover be incorporated; or alternately allow the Kindle to pivot completely at the spine. While I have learned to avoid stressing this joint, I've had to instruct others to take care. One habitual action when I hand someone the device for the first time is that they try and turn it forward from the back cover, as you would a book, to inspect the backside (maybe look for back cover notes?). While there is enough flex to put your thumb in there, that's it. Beyond that and something is going to have to break. The only thing of interest back there are the internal speaker perforations so I see no reason why it can't be secured down at this edge.

I really do like the cover. It seems to be pretty durable, and I feel it's protected from everyday wear and tear.
The elastic holds it closed, but also I use it to hold the Kindle secure, by putting the elastic over the top corner of the
Kindle when I am reading.

I am very happy with the purchase of my Kindle Cover. It adds a little weight, but the benefit of protecting the Kindle far outweighs that small drawback. The simplicity of removing the Kindle from the cover makes it easy to eliminate when protecting the Kindle isn't required. I think it is a wise purchase.

My cover opens like a book, which is comfortable, I like this basic cover as a starting cover. I appreciate that there are many covers to choose from.
